God planned everything, even gave me a song for worship tonight like an hour before hand. I mean, this song's been in my head all the time, but he made me realise the relevance of this song to the study~!~! It was very very good!~~!

Nick came too =) w00h000!~!~ hehe Effort~!!

But yeah, i thought tonight wouldn't go well, coz a lot of people couldn't turn up, but we actually had jono back and Nick so it was good =)

Last day of work

Everything seems quite awkward today and yesterday. It's like everyone knows you're leaving but then they don't really say much. The look in their eyes are "sorry that you're leaving" but even though no one really wants me to leave, they can't really do anything. Not that i mind though, i am finishing up my final semester of exams etc, and some time to study would be pretty advantageous, but leaving a group of people whom i have worked with for the last 6 months is kinda sad in a way.

John, who's always been quite helpful said he mentioned that they didn't want to lose me in the last meeting to no avail. Scott, who just recently had a baby boy has always been the quiet achiever type, leading our little team from the back lines and has always been nice and helpful. Amelia, who's gonna have a baby soon has been quite cheerful and very talkative even when there's not much to talk about. And Heather who's been especially nice to me from the day i started coz iw as sitting next to her and i had no idea, so i'd keep asking and bugging her heehhe.

My team leader Matt? Well..... he's not too bad. He has corrected me now and then, and that's been very helpful. Has taught me to always achieve something out of a call. Even if it's passing the call to another group, as long as the call is a success rather than a failure ie. "That's for the Remedy team, i'll put you through" compared to what i said "I don't think i know the answer to that one, you might want to try the Remedy team"

Anyhow, i'm getting a cake today apparantly =) Very nice of Heather to organise that. John was surprised that i didn't apply for the full time position at the service desk..... well, i'm ONLY a student at the moment! In any case, this has been an awesome experience. I gotta concentrate on this semester coming up. Alot of stuff to do.

Matty from church is retiring from Sat night group, coz he has a lot more pastoral work to do now, so i'll be leading the Saturday Night Live cell group with my co-leader Josh. I went with Dotdot to Koorong the other day and bought like $150 worth of books. Started reading yesterday and mum was like "woahhhhhh you're reading" and i'm like "yerrrrrrrrrrrrr", big contrast to her seeing me play DOTA every night with the IGS bunch this week aahhaha

DOTA actually has taken up quite a lot of time. Unsurprisingly, but i think i'm not as crazy as my friend from engineering, who doesn't sleep and can't stop.

I helped my sister get a laptop the other day =)

I think i should have opted for the 9cell battery but i didn't bother. Wanted to keep it under 1400. Now i need to find cases for my sister's notebook. Need a decent leather kinda case and then perhaps a sleeve for her when she doesn't need everything (you know, those wetsuit material stuff).

Hmmm, i'm thirsty, work don't have those poly cups anymore, oh well =p 7 more hours till home time =p

Week3

I've been a bit lazy this week

Been starting to play DOTA with the Ivanhoe bunch......... uhoh..... i hear dot screaming NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hahahaha.

what else have i been doing..... oh yes.....

I've watched Charlotte Gray and Million Dollar Baby

Firstly:

Charlotte Gray

A nice decent film about war and about spies and all of that stuff. I'm not toooo clear cut on which side she's on or who her real country is but besides the point, not wanting to give too much away about this film, this film is quite a nice film. It lacks a lot of emotional tension though. the film basically hovers around one passive level of excitement/interest throughout the whole film. There's a love plot but is not very well scripted/built up, there's war yet the audience is not very involved.

Overall it wasn't a bad film, i would have expected a little more.

The Chang rating 6-6.5/10

Secondly:

Million Dollar Baby

Starring: Hilary Swank, Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman

Clearly one of the decent movies i've seen recently. Not only is the acting quite good, as Morgan Freeman always is, but the script is well written. Not overly dramatised, it tells the story of a boxer, and not your average mohammed ali stuff. Clint Eastwood seems to be making a name of himself for very decent directing. It seems that being an old timer has paid off and he knows how to direct and act. Anyhow, enough said, it's a tissue grabber of a film, but i didn't cry, but i almost did.

Chang Rating 9/10

Week 2

Hmmmm, so what have i done this week?

Well......... i've fixed my car!~!!~!~ kinda!~!~!~ lolz

ok so i've installed some decent kenwood speakers both front and rear. Front ones are 2way splits with tweeters hehe and the rear are just standard 2way ones. Now i get a perfect balance of sound from front and back =) Also, i've installed an mp3 head unit, and it comes with a little remote too =)

I've also balanced my wheels coz my car was a little shaky on the freeway after the little accident with the curb.

I've also watched another movie. Red Eye.

It wasn't a fantastic movie i must say. I'd give it 5.5/10. Basically, the movie revolves around a girl being taken hostage on a plane with the threat to kill her dad if she didn't do what the guy says. So anyhow, i thought it was gonna be scary but ends up to be pretty plain. It's an ok movie, different to the horror movies that he's infamous for. But yeah, a little disappointed any case =p

1st week

After being deprived of watching this movie for so long (basically because ages ago i thought it was just too long (2.5hour movie meh) but i finally rented the DVD and watched it and i must admit that this movie is quite brilliant. Not because it brings out any truth or significant substance to the faith/belief matter as it is a Sci-Fi, but it tinkers on the fact that belief is really based on your own perspective. You can share everything that you know, everything that you believe in and yet, despite how intricate you can be and how detailed your vocabulary can describe things, often we want physical and hard evidence in order for us to believe in someone or something. Which brings me to the point that, in the same way that it's hard to persuade or force someone to believe in what you believe in, it's a matter of you truly believing it yourself.

There's a lot of decent footage in this film. I'm not sure what the budget for this film was, but it must have been pretty big. The machinery that they built was quite decent, the sound effects weren't too bad, the galaxy and stars etc was quite well done. Especially towards the end of the film. I thought the beginning of the film wasn't very well executed. Slightly rushed due to the fact that they tried to put in too much footage of the universe. The fact that some parts moved at different speeds to others made it look a litttle too fake for my liking.

Anyhow, besides this movie, i also watched :

Ong Bak

Somehow i can't get this multiple picture thing going atm, but anyhow, to say the least, i found it increasingly boring after a while. I mean, to say on the cover that it's the "long overdue answer to bruce lee and jackie chan" is far fetched. Sure, Jackie Chan, but Bruce Lee? Mate, he's 50 billion years behind Bruce Lee. Anyhow, the guy does have decent athleticism and does do flips through tight areas etc, which is better than Jackie Chan since Jackie kinda runs through and jumps through stuff without athleticism, he's more risking his life, this guy gracefully does side flips through tiny gap window panes etc. Anyhow, the fighting's not that good. I must admit i was expecting a lot more from this film. After hearing raves from people saying his fighting is good, it's just not good enough. Firstly, you see the guy wrapping rope around his fists and arms before a fight (i'm not sure if real thai boxers do this) but i think that that's the most absolutely absurd way of fighting. Think about it, if you fought fist to fist, you'll damage your fists LESS. But i guess it increases damage, but not by much, i mean, isn't the point to "decrease" damage? Like they use gloves for boxing?

So anyway, his moves are slow, very slow (compared to Bruce) and his fighting skills aren't really anywhere near Bruce's skills. If chicks watch it to perve, his body isn't that good, i'd prefer Bruce Lee's figure any day. Although he does do this move that's pretty cool where he tries to trip/kick someone in the ankle and he misses but loops around in one go without stopping to come back for a kick to the head, all the time spinning on his left foot.

Last of all, was the movie "Guess Who". "boom boom boom" (okay that was for you dotdot) hehe. This one's a fairly decent comedy about a black chick bringing a white boyfriend home without telling the parents, and the parents all think he's black. Funny part is when the taxi driver drives them over, and the parents think it's the taxi driver hahahah. Not much to say about this movie, except it's light comedy, good laid back movie.

This complete's my first week of holidays and procrastination =)

Oh, of course, world cup was amongst the things i watched, all i have to say about this is:

- Dodgy, blind, bribed, deaf, incompetent, inconsistent Refs

- Stupid Lampard

- Clueless Sven Eriksson

- You idiots Brazil

- Academy Award for Best Actors: Italy

- Let's hope Germany wins now =)
