Life's been busy
Mannnnn, i've been quite busy lately....... to think that i'd pack my summer with so much stuff =p Anyhow, so what's been happening in my life lately....... my friend actually gave me a call a week ago and asked me to work for a steel company and stuff coz they need help for the shutdown of their mills, but i wasn't sure if i should take it or not and after much drama i finally took it and it's kinda good coz there's alot of things that i've learnt, and it's engineering related in a sense =p
Basically we're supervising workmen for the shutdown of these steel mills and it's quite complicated and if anything goes wrong and u're responsible, that's like 6 millions bucks gone (if the furnace decides to blow up) lolz
so yeah, been working from 7-3:30, 7am-7pm, 7-4 and hours like that the last few days and it's down in laverton so i'm currently staying at my friend matt's place for a month till that's over. After that, i'll probably be doing summer school to lighten my load for my final year. Results are coming out soon and i'm not too excited.
What else has been happening in my life..... mmmmmmmmm.........i think God's helped me take things into perspective and not jump ahead of myself. I think that he's taught me that i have a lot more to learn before i can take on anything that i "think" i can handle..... but yeah, this job's been good, we're doing a few certs that might be handy in the future and they're paying for it so that's kewl. Monday and Tuesday i'll be doing First aid cert, and then 2 weeks later i'll be doing Confined Space training so i can jump into the furnace and check out what's there to repair and fix with the burners and refractories inside etc.
I'll be working some crazy hours during chrissy, but i wish they'd let us work on a public holiday but i dont think they can afford the brickies.......... they get paid around 120-180 an hour at the moment, and for the company to pay them 2.5 times that, they'd be payin through their retirement funds =p So yeah, i'll be doing 6pm-8am over that period for 7 days (not straight) so i better catch up on as much sleep as i can =p
besides all of this, ummm, life's alright, going nice........ just needa continue to pray i think =p
